The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides information technology leadership and support to the Georgia Institute of Technology. OIT serves as the primary source of enterprise-wide information technology and telecommunications services in support of students, faculty, staff, and researchers.

Job SummaryResearch Cyber Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-performance cyber infrastructure to support the institution research initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in cybersecurity, network architecture, and data management to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of sensitive research data and systems. The engineer collaborates closely with researchers and IT teams to align infrastructure solutions with evolving research needs and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain secure cyber infrastructure that supports the institution research initiatives and protects sensitive data.
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential threats to the cyber infrastructure and implement appropriate security measures.
- Monitor and analyze network performance and security metrics to ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of research data and systems.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to cyber infrastructure architecture, configurations, and security protocols for compliance and training purposes.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cyber infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal disruption to research activities and workflows.
