Position: Sr Dev Ops Engineer with Automation
Location: Atlanta, GA (Onsite)
Duration: 6+ Months

Primary Skill: Chef Infra, Chef Automate, Test Kitchen, InSpec;
Power Shell, Python, Bash, Chef, or Terraform

• Develop and maintain Chef cookbooks, recipes, templates, attributes, and custom resources
• Build and enhance infrastructure automation pipelines for provisioning and configuration
• Implement policy-based configuration using Chef Infra, Test Kitchen, InSpec, and Chef Automate
• Integrate Chef with CI/CD systems (Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, Git Lab, etc.)
• Perform error handling, versioning, and code reviews for cookbook updates
• Work with platform teams (Compute, Storage, Network, Cloud) to automate repeatable operations
• Troubleshoot configuration drifts, cookbook failures, and infrastructure-level issues
• Enforce compliance and security baselines using Chef In Spec
• Drive automation maturity and reduce manual operational activities
• Prepare documentation, standards, and automation patterns

• Strong hands-on experience with Chef Infra, Chef Automate, Test Kitchen, In Spec
• Proficiency in Ruby, Power Shell, Bash scripting
• Understanding of CI/CD and Git-based workflows
• Experience with Windows/Linux administration
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP)
• Infrastructure automation and configuration management best practices
• Debugging configuration drift and infra-related issues
• Strong Windows/Linux administration background
• Scripting and automation (Power Shell, Python, Bash)
• Experience With Configuration Management Tools (Chef Preferred)
• Knowledge of virtualization (VMware/Hyper
  
  V) and cloud compute (Azure/AWS)
• Understanding of monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Cloud Watch, Azure Monitor)
• Strong incident management and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with SRE concepts (SLOs, Error Budgets, Reliability Patterns)
