ServiceNow Developer

Overview

We are seeking a Service Now Developer to design, build, and enhance enterprise workflows and applications on the Service Now platform. This role focuses on hands-on development, configuration, and integration of Service Now solutions that support IT service management and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in an Agile environment, understands ITSM best practices, and enjoys translating business needs into scalable technical solutions.

• Design, develop, and maintain custom Service Now applications and platform enhancements.
• Build and configure business rules, client scripts, UI policies, UI actions, script includes, ACLs, and dictionary entries.
• Develop workflows and automations using Flow Designer, Workflow Editor, and App Engine Studio.
• Customize and support Service Portal, Agent Workspace, and Virtual Agent experiences.
• Implement data transformations and integrations using transform maps and Integration Hub.
• Configure and extend Service Now ITSM modules, including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, SLA, Knowledge, Service Catalog, and Asset & CMDB.
• Support ITOM capabilities such as Discovery and Service Mapping.
• Ensure CMDB accuracy, governance, and alignment with configuration management practices.
• Enhance platform performance, usability, and maintainability through best-practice development standards.
• Build and support integrations using REST and SOAP APIs, MID Servers, webhooks, email integrations, and ETL tools.
• Integrate Service Now with enterprise systems such as Active Directory, LDAP, and SSO providers.
• Leverage Integration Hub and Flow Designer to automate cross-platform processes.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum development cycles, including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, administrators, and architects to refine requirements and deliver solutions.
• Follow SDLC and ITIL v4-aligned practices for development, testing, and deployment.
• Produce clear technical documentation and support knowledge transfer.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

• Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) required.
• Service Now Certified Implementation Specialist – ITSM (CIS-ITSM) strongly preferred.

• Hands-on experience developing solutions on the Service Now platform.
• Prior experience working within an Agile development environment.
• Exposure to Higher Education environments is a plus.
