Head of Purchasing for AGFA Health Care
, you will play a pivotal strategic role in shaping the longterm direction of our global IT supplier ecosystem across the critical categories of Medical Applications, Middleware, and Operating Systems
. Your leadership will directly influence the evolution of AGFA Health Care's Enterprise Imaging Platform by ensuring that our supplier partnerships, technology choices, and sourcing strategies continuously strengthen our competitive position and enable future innovation.
You will act as a strategic advisor and decision maker, using qualitative and quantitative insights to identify highvalue procurement opportunities, steer supplier strategy, and drive superior cost performance, operational reliability, and technology enablement across the organization.
This role spans both upstream and downstream activities-from market scanning and thought leader engagement to lifecycle governance and global supplier performance management-requiring strong cross functional alignment with Product Management, R&D, Finance, Customer Operations, and regional business leaders worldwide.
What You'll Do Define the Global Sourcing Strategy- Define and execute a forward looking sourcing strategy
, introducing innovative solutions, emerging technologies, new suppliers, and future product opportunities. - Anticipate evolving business and technology needs to ensure AGFA's supplier ecosystem remains robust, futureproof, and aligned with corporate strategy.
- Represent procurement at the leadership team and procurement committees
, influencing enterprise level procurement priorities and ensuring alignment with AGFA Health Care's longterm vision. - Develop strategic positioning and thought leadership in collaboration with internal stakeholders and industry experts.
- Lead all supplier related strategic decisions from early solution development through implementation and global maintenance.
- Guide technology and vendor selection to support AGFA's innovation roadmap and accelerate delivery of next generation imaging solutions.
- Perform advanced analysis of market dynamics, supplier economics, cost structures, and key trends to define longterm sourcing decisions.
- Build strategic category plans based on external intelligence and internal business priorities.
- Scout and evaluate global IT suppliers based on functional and regulatory requirements.
- Define RFP strategies, scoring methodologies, and selection frameworks to ensure objective, strategic decision making.
- Lead high impact negotiations, shaping longterm contracts that drive performance, mitigate risk, and support business agility.
- Oversee worldwide contract governance to ensure operational excellence and alignment with AGFA standards.
- Ensure global projects meet Quality, Delivery, Cost
, and Service expectations. - Report performance and strategic progress to stakeholders across the organization.
- Minimum 5+ years of international purchasing experience in IT critical industries such as healthcare, medical technology, software, banking, or telecom.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Science
