Database Administrator, Systems Administrator
Akkodis is seeking a Database Administrator for a Contract with a client in Atlanta, GA
. Candidates must have strong expertise in DB2, IMS, or ADABAS while managing performance tuning and resolving complex database issues.
$53/hour to $68/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Job Responsibilities
- Administer and support z/OS mainframe database environments including DB2, IMS DBDC, and ADABAS to ensure reliability, availability, and optimal performance.
- Manage and optimize database structures through partitioning, indexing, data sharing, and performance tuning techniques.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain replication processes using IBM Info Sphere Data Replication (IIDR) and related tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database, performance, and system‑level issues across multiple mainframe platforms.
- Oversee database backups, recovery workflows, and disaster recovery planning to maintain business continuity.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including infrastructure, application, and vendor partners, to support upgrades, changes, and ongoing operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 8+ years of hands‑on experience with z/OS mainframe database administration, including DB2, IMS DBDC, and/or ADABAS.
- Strong proficiency in IBM mainframe database technologies, including SQL tuning, DB2 partitioning/indexing, replication tools (IIDR), and JCL as required by the client.
- Proven ability to support high‑availability enterprise environments, including backup/recovery management, performance troubleshooting, and adherence to data security best practices.

Pay Details$53.00 to $68.00 per hour
