Job PurposeThe Senior Network Architect is responsible for the end-to-end architecture, design, governance, and lifecycle management of the enterprise network, including SD-WAN, Cloud OnRamp, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), Zero Trust, Zscaler platforms, and Unified Communications technologies such as Microsoft Teams. This role ensures secure, scalable, and high-performance connectivity across LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, data center, cloud, wireless, and collaboration environments.
The Senior Network Architect serves as a strategic technical leader, partnering with IT leadership, Enterprise/Solutions Architects, Infrastructure Project Managers, Security, and Collaboration teams to align network, cloud connectivity, security, and real-time communications architectures with enterprise business objectives.
This position operates primarily in a Plan/Build/Operate model (80% Planning, 20% Build/Operate) and provides technical leadership and mentorship to the Network Services team.
Key Responsibilities Architecture, Strategy & Governance- Provide enterprise-wide oversight and governance across all network domains, including WAN, SD-WAN, Cloud OnRamp, Zscaler, Zero Trust, and Unified Communications, ensuring architectural integrity, performance, and compliance.
- Define and maintain network architecture principles, standards, and reference designs aligned with the enterprise future-state vision, including SD-WAN, SASE, and collaboration-ready network architectures.
- Develop network and connectivity roadmaps supporting cloud adoption, SaaS delivery, branch transformation, and enterprise collaboration initiatives.
- Evaluate the current-state network, security, and collaboration portfolio, identify technical debt, and define lifecycle and modernization strategies.
- Architect and design secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions for LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, Cloud OnRamp, cloud-native networking, and collaboration platforms.
- Lead the design and implementation of SD-WAN architectures, including application‑aware routing, resiliency, segmentation, centralized policy enforcement, and direct‑to‑cloud access.
- Design and implement Cloud OnRamp solutions to optimize connectivity between branch locations, data centers, and cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Architect network designs optimized for Microsoft Teams, UCaaS, and real‑time collaboration workloads, including QoS, latency, jitter, packet loss mitigation, and traffic prioritization.
- Integrate SD‑WAN with Zscaler ZIA, ZPA, and Cloud Firewall to enable secure, performant access to SaaS, private applications, and collaboration services.
- Design and enforce Zero Trust network architectures leveraging Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), and Zscaler Cloud Firewall, integrated with SD-WAN and cloud connectivity.
- Ensure secure access patterns for SaaS, IaaS, private applications, and Microsoft Teams using identity-aware, policy-driven controls.
- Perform network, SD-WAN, cloud, and collaboration‑related security assessments and risk analyses.
- Drive automation for SD-WAN provisioning, Cloud OnRamp deployments, Zscaler policy management, and network lifecycle operations.
- Act as the escalation point for complex SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, Zscaler, and Microsoft Teams network performance issues.
- Provide guidance on advanced troubleshooting, performance tuning, and root‑cause analysis across hybrid, cloud, and collaboration environments.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to network engineers and architects, with a strong focus on SD-WAN, cloud networking, Zero Trust, and collaboration‑aware network design.
- Collaborate with Cloud, Security, Dev Ops, and Collaboration / UC teams to ensure seamless, high-quality user experiences.
- Communicate complex networking, cloud, security, and collaboration concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
