Description Summary:

The Sr. Technical Solutions Engineer is responsible for how business processes are implemented, operated, and supported across DC BLOX’s enterprise systems, covering both on-premises infrastructure and SaaS platforms. This role emphasizes defining process flow and system logic, managing and improving production systems, and ensuring data flows correctly across ITSM, operational, financial, and SaaS applications. You will work hands-on with Linux/Windows infrastructure, containerized workloads, and enterprise and SaaS applications, collaborating with business teams and developers to solve specific operational issues.

The work is practical, detail-focused, and centered on ensuring systems function properly day to day.

  • Elicit requirements from business teams and translate them into clear system workflows, data mappings, and functional specifications.
  • Design and maintain swim-lane diagrams, process flows, and data models that describe how work moves across systems.
  • Take ownership of systems after go-live by refining configurations, adjusting logic, and resolving usability or data flow issues.
  • Administer and operate on-premise infrastructure, including Linux/Windows servers, storage, and core services that support enterprise applications.
  • Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot containerized workloads in an on-prem environment.
  • Perform hands-on system administration tasks such as patching, configuration management, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Partner with networking and facilities teams to ensure infrastructure designs align with data center standards and operational constraints.
  • Produce and maintain technical diagrams, functional documentation, and runbooks used by IT, development, and support teams.
  • Establish and review system standards, configurations, and process designs, serving as a technical authority for enterprise platforms and integrations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Training/Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in systems engineering, enterprise application administration, or technical operations roles with direct ownership of production systems.
  • Proven ability to act as a senior technical resource, setting standards, reviewing designs, and mentoring other engineers or administrators.
  • Strong hands-on experience administering Linux-based systems in on-prem environments, including patching, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Practical experience operating and supporting containerized workloads.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business processes and translate them into system configurations, workflows, and functional specifications.
  • Experience administering and supporting SaaS platforms alongside on-prem systems, with a clear understanding of system boundaries and data flow.
  • Working knowledge of ITSM platforms (e.g., Manage Engine) and CMDB concepts, including data accuracy and lifecycle management.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including the ability to trace issues across applications, infrastructure, and data flows.
  • Comfortable partnering with software development teams by providing clear functional requirements, reviewing implementations, and validating system behavior.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience considered.
