At Regions, the Information Technology Project Manager independently manages projects of medium to large scale that are significant in scope. Ensures projects remain on time/within budget, certifies project goals and success markers are met. This position collaborates with project teams, functional owners, and project sponsors supporting and executing the full project lifecycle to achieve specific business outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities- Defines, develops, and manages overall project plans to ensure work is assigned and completed on time
- Accesses and manages risk throughout the project lifecycle and work with project stakeholders and departmental manager to deliver risk mitigation plans
- Guides teams through project structuring, problem definition, issue identification, and resolution development using problem solving principles and past experience
- Works independently to draft project ready project deliverables with minimal review from departmental management
- Applies project management, tools, and templates to successfully manage medium to large scale projects
- Maintains ownership of timelines and deliverables during all phases of a project to ensure projects are executed according to plans
- Gains proficiency with translating strategy into tangible and actionable delivery work based on business needs
- Identifies, engages, and partners with multi-disciplinary teams across the organization to achieve desired project outcomes
- Manages technology projects for various business groups throughout the Enterprise related but not limited to network upgrades, hardware installations, software and app development, data management to include data integration and transformation as well as large scale system replacements and business initiatives
- Provides project and departmental status reporting
- Executes departmental tasks as assigned
- May work on multiple initiatives with cross functional teams simultaneously, maintaining accountability of all project delivery work
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or related degree
- Four (4) years of project management experience
- Banking or financial services experience
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- Project Management Institute-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Ability to create and deliver influential large-scale project communications with clarity, confidence, and enthusiasm
- Deep understanding of project management methodologies and best practices Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and multiple commitments / projects simultaneously
- Relevant work experience in technology with a broad understanding across multiple IT disciplines
- Familiarity with the Kanban approach, utilizing Jira and Confluence toolsets
- Expertise with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
- Strong written / verbal communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Experience managing projects using Agile, hybrid, or adaptive delivery methodologies
- Agile certifications (e.g.,
CSM, A-CSM, PSM, CSPO, A-CSPO, PSPO
) or equivalent practical experience preferred
Exposure to scaled Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe®) and large, cross‑functional delivery efforts - Strong collaboration skills working with product, technology, and business partners
- Understanding of change management principles

Prosci or similar OCM experience is a plus
Regions will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position. Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to Birmingham, AL, Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC.
