About the RoleWe’re seeking a Design Systems Designer with a Native Mobile Design Ops focus to join a growing team of designers and developers supporting a large-scale, enterprise mobile app ecosystem. This role is centered around design systems for native applications (iOS and Android) — not web — requiring deep knowledge of mobile platform nuances, release processes, and technical implementation constraints.
You’ll play a key role in building, scaling, and governing the native design system that supports multiple concurrent product teams, ensuring visual and experiential consistency across all mobile surfaces.
Responsibilities- Design, evolve, and document a comprehensive native mobile design system (iOS + Android) used across multiple design and engineering teams.
- Develop and maintain Figma components
, patterns, and libraries that align with mobile platform standards and design tokens. - Partner closely with engineers to ensure accurate component implementation, maintaining fidelity between design and development.
- Define and enforce governance models
, workflows, and version control processes to ensure consistency, scalability, and quality. - Contribute to design operations initiatives, optimizing team efficiency and ensuring seamless collaboration across design, engineering, and product.
- Document system usage, component behavior, and platform differences in Confluence or equivalent tools.
- Support cross-platform parity efforts while respecting native platform guidelines and release cadences.
- Native mobile expertise: Deep understanding of both iOS and Android design paradigms, technical constraints, and app release processes.
- Design Systems experience: Proven success designing, scaling, and governing complex,
enterprise-level native app design systems
. - Design Ops proficiency: Experience establishing design workflows, versioning strategies, and governance practices for large distributed teams.
- Tools mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Figma
, Jira
, and Confluence — particularly within a native app release environment. - Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, and QA engineers.
- Exceptional documentation, communication, and organization skills.
- Experience with design tokens
, component libraries
, and mobile accessibility standards
. - Familiarity with motion design principles and prototyping for native interactions.
- Prior experience in a large-scale Design Ops or system governance role.
The hourly pay range for this position (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location) is $50.00 to $80.00/hr benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k and commuter benefits.
