Data Engineer, Systems Engineer
Overview
SP Richards is seeking a seasoned Oracle Database Administrator who can immediately contribute to a mature, high‑performance database environment. This person will join a team of three DBAs supporting mission-critical systems across Oracle, SQL Server, and legacy Mongo
DB (being phased out). The ideal candidate has deep Oracle expertise and is comfortable stepping into on-call rotations and supporting server migration projects to Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC).
- Administer, maintain, and optimize Oracle and SQL Server databases
- Support Exadata hardware environments and help with upcoming migration to ExaCC
- Perform routine performance tuning, system monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Participate in on-call rotation (1 week on, 2 weeks off — mostly remote)
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams as servers are consolidated and replaced
- Ensure reliability, uptime, and performance of critical databases
- Use OEM for monitoring and management (upgrading to 20)

- 5+ years of hands-on DBA experience
- Strong expertise with Oracle Database
- Working knowledge of SQL Server (or willingness/ability to learn quickly)
- Experience supporting Exadata or other high-performance Oracle environments
- Fluent with Linux (Oracle DBs are Linux-hosted)
- Ability to handle on-call rotations (1 week on / 2 weeks off; mostly remote)
- Ability to “hit the ground running” — senior-level troubleshooting & performance tuning
- Experience with OEM / Oracle Enterprise Manager (19, moving to 20)
- Exadata experience (production preferred)
- Experience with ExaCC (Oracle Cloud@Customer)
- Migration or infrastructure modernization background
- Experience with Oracle on Linux in dev environments
