Data Governance Manager
The Data Governance Manager will build and operationalize core data governance capabilities for the Building Products organization. This role focuses on improving the speed and quality of data‑based decision‑making by establishing consistent processes, strengthening data cataloging and knowledge preservation capabilities, and enabling business teams to manage data with clarity and accountability. The position will have high visibility and strong cross‑functional influence.

WhatYou Will Do
- Establish and maintain foundational components of the Building Products Data Governance Program, leading the BP Data Governance Council to drive initiative alignment across stakeholders.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on governance practices.
- Define and implement procedures that enable business teams to identify, measure, and improve data quality.
- Develop and maintain business data governance policies, principles, and operating procedures, partnering with organizational leaders to support priorities.
- Build strong working relationships across Data Stewards, SMEs, and leadership teams.
- Support the use of data quality tools, including custom queries and applications.
- Improve metadata and cataloging capabilities to support knowledge retention and data discoverability. Champion the rollout, adoption and ongoing use of the enterprise data catalog tool.
- Define the standards for metadata quality, business definitions and documentation expectations.
- Participate in Data Domain Forums to guide business teams in defining Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and ensure CDE definitions and rules are consistently maintained.
- Experience in data governance, data management, metadata, or data quality functions.
- Experience and understanding of data cataloging, business definitions and knowledge preservation practices.
- Experience and ability in influencing stakeholders across business and technology teams without direct authority.
- Experience facilitating governance working groups.
- Experience and ability to translate technical concepts into business‑friendly language.
- Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
- Bachelor’s degree or significant experience in roles of progressive responsibility.
- Experience implementing or supporting enterprise data catalog tools.
- Experience and familiarity with data quality tools and profiling techniques.
- Experience and background in defining Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
- Experience with business process design, data modeling or operational data flows.
