Job SummaryUnder the Criminal Investigations Division of the Georgia Tech Police Department, support investigators with online searches, data retrieval, and online data tracking. Provide online support for investigators when needed and provide on‑call data retrieval. Investigate, analyze, obtain, compile, and disseminate records and information to assist law enforcement personnel with all types of criminal investigations. This position interacts regularly with institute and unit management, faculty, staff, students, and vendors.
Responsibilities- Conduct and log threat assessments/open‑source checks; manage and disseminate criminal intelligence data into storage and retrieval systems. Review overnight activity reports, conduct criminal intelligence workups, and disseminate information to investigators.
- Support Patrol/Investigations Division with video footage; use open‑source data and software to document and track potential threats and security‑related issues on campus.
- Conduct investigations for assigned cases and assist with non‑assigned cases; coordinate interstate and intrastate information exchange, prepare analytical reports, research patterns, structures, trends, and movements of criminal groups or individuals, develop recommendations, and create charts and maps.
- Create intelligence briefings and case updates for department‑wide dissemination; research, compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data from department and outside agency reports.

Valid driver’s license; certification through Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC)/National Crime Information Center (NCIC) within 120 days of hire. - May be required to work at off‑site locations with various law‑enforcement agencies.
- One to two years of job‑related experience.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Forensics, or related specializations. - Three years of job‑related experience.
- Knowledge of Avigilon or similar camera systems, threat assessment, open‑source investigation.
- Physical lifting and sensory abilities required to perform the job successfully.

Salary Job Grade A7, range $47,881 – $60,000. - Must be a U.S. citizen.
