Department Overview
Mercedes-Benz USA's Network Development function is responsible for designing, optimizing, and steering the Mercedes-Benz retail network in the U.S.. Its mission is to ensure that dealer partners are high-performing, profitable, and aligned with brand standards, while delivering an exceptional customer experience across sales and service channels.

Responsibilities Include:
* Field Operations:
Partner with dealers to improve sales, profitability, and customer retention through tailored strategies, training, and process optimization.
* Retail Network Strategy:
Drive implementation of industry-leading strategies that support MBUSA and Mercedes-Benz AG objectives for sales, service, parts, and digital services. This includes footprint planning, facility design programs (e.g., MB Evolution), and representation analyses.
* Governance & Compliance:
Manage framework agreements, diversity initiatives, and strategic programs to ensure compliance and alignment with corporate standards.
* Dealer Development Group (DDG):
Conduct dealer visits, performance reviews, and "Day in the Life" sessions to strengthen operational excellence and dealer engagement.
* Dealer Support Center (DSC):
Provide centralized support for dealer inquiries and operational needs, including AI-driven case triaging and digital tools for efficiency.
* Digital Enablement:
Enhance dealer capabilities with dashboards, automated reporting, and other data analytic tools
Job Overview
The Network Development STAR Intern will play a key role in supporting MBUSA's dealer network initiatives through data-driven analysis, reporting optimization, and field support projects. This position offers hands-on experience with advanced analytics, AI-driven tools, and training development, while providing exposure to dealership operations through shadowing activities. The intern will collaborate closely with Network Development leadership and Field teams to deliver impactful insights and process improvements.
Responsibilities:
* Data analytics on dealer performance via automated visualization - build and refine dashboards or visual reports that surface KPIs and trends across the dealer network.
* Metadata auditing and cataloging-review, organize, and document data sources and fields to improve data quality, lineage, and discoverability in Network Development reporting.
* Field ad hoc reporting - support Area Managers with timely, targeted analyses and one off reporting requests to inform market actions.
* Support rollout of AI enhancements to Dealer Support Center - help implement AI-driven tools and workflows that improve dealer assistance and efficiency.
* Assist Dealer Development Group reporting optimization efforts - contribute to streamlining reporting processes and enhancing data accuracy.
* Assist field training team with curriculum needs - support updates to training materials, delivery modifications, and development of new modules to meet evolving business requirements.
* Ad hoc dealer evaluation projects (e.g., website review follow ups) - assist with structured assessments that highlight strengths and opportunities at specific retailers.
* Dealer shadowing - participate in guided observation sessions to understand day-to-day dealership operations and customer experience practices.
