Job Summary

The Power Platform Developer supports CDC programs—specifically NCEH/ATSDR—by designing, developing, and maintaining secure, compliant, and scalable low‑code solutions using Microsoft Power Platform technologies. This role focuses on automating business processes, enhancing data management and reporting, and supporting IT governance, compliance, and operational efficiency across enterprise and program‑level systems.

The developer works closely with federal staff, program managers, business analysts, and information security personnel to deliver solutions that align with CDC and HHS requirements, including Enterprise Performance Life Cycle (EPLC), information security, privacy, and accessibility standards. Experience working in a federal environment—preferably with CDC or another public health or HHS operating division—is strongly preferred.

Key Duties And Responsibilities Power Platform Development & Automation
  • Design, build, test, and maintain solutions using Power Apps (Canvas and Model‑Driven), Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse to support CDC business and IT processes.
  • Automate workflows related to program management, governance reporting, compliance tracking, data calls, and operational support.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to support portfolio management, performance tracking, and decision‑making.
Requirements Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work with CDC program staff, IMAT, and business stakeholders to gather and document functional and technical requirements.
  • Translate business needs into secure, scalable Power Platform solutions that align with federal standards and CDC operating procedures.
  • Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and governance forums as required.
Data Management & Integration
  • Develop and maintain data models, integrations, and reporting solutions using SharePoint, Dataverse, SQL‑based sources, and other enterprise systems.
  • Ensure data integrity, quality, and appropriate access controls across applications and reports.
  • Support data management activities for both IS‑managed and non‑IS‑managed assets.
Security, Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure solutions comply with EPLC, FISMA, CDC OCISO, HHS, and OMB security and privacy requirements.
  • Support system documentation and artifacts (as applicable) for security authorization, change management, and governance reviews.
  • Ensure all solutions meet Section 508 accessibility requirements.
Documentation, Training & Support
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide end‑user training and ongoing support for Power Platform solutions.
  • Troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and support continuous improvement of deployed solutions.
Minimum Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience
  • 3–5 years of hands‑on experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Experience supporting business process automation, data management and reporting solutions.
  • Experience working in a federal government environment, preferably with CDC, HHS, or another federal agency.
Technical Skills
  • Strong proficiency with:
    • Power Apps (Canvas and Model‑Driven)
    • Power Automate (cloud flows, approvals, integrations)
    • Power BI (datasets, reports, dashboards)
  • Experience integrating Power Platform with SharePoint Online, Dataverse, and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Familiarity with SQL, HTML, JavaScript, and web‑based technologies.
  • Understanding of federal IT security, privacy, and governance requirements.
Communication
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear documentation and interact effectively with federal stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Prior experience directly supporting CDC, ATSDR, or other public health programs.
  • Experience supporting:
    • EPLC deliverables
    • Governance boards or IT portfolio management
    • Compliance reporting and data calls
  • Experience with SharePoint administration or development.
