As a Full-Stack - Manufacturing Systems (Backend) Engineer
, you will build, deploy, and optimize our internal platform across manufacturing sites. You will support process improvement initiatives, partner in Kaizen events, and help leverage data and AI to drive operational excellence across the business. This is a highly cross-functional role in blending software engineering, manufacturing operations, analytics, and continuous improvement. This is a backend-first, systems-oriented role. While the position spans the full stack, most of the long-term leverage comes from backend architecture: data modeling, authorization and RBAC, auditability, and secure multi-site design.
The ideal candidate is comfortable owning core backend decisions from early stages, understands the downstream impact of architectural choices, and treats the frontend as an execution and workflow layer—not the system of record.
You will build and ship full-stack features across a manufacturing management platform, with primary responsibility for backend systems including secure multi-site data architecture, audit systems, scoring engines, and performance dashboards. You will deploy and configure the platform at new manufacturing sites (SSO, RBAC, site-specific configuration), support tablet-first audit workflows on the factory floor, and translate Kaizen outcomes, standard work, and daily management needs into scalable software solutions.
The role also involves building automated KPI pipelines and self-service dashboards for manufacturing leaders, as well as applying AI and advanced analytics to enable predictive quality, anomaly detection, and automation of repetitive reporting and data processing tasks.
- 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience with meaningful backend ownership
- Strong backend skills: data modeling, Postgre
SQL, performance optimization, multi-tenant - Experience building APIs (Node.js/Express) with authentication, authorization, and RBAC
- Experience contributing to or owning systems built from scratch (0→1)
- Strong SQL skills and ability to work with messy, real-world operational data
- Experience building dashboards, KPI pipelines, and data-driven tools for non-technical users
- Practical experience integrating AI/ML tools as assistive components within production systems
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Self-directed and comfortable owning ambiguous problems from concept to production
- Proven ability to build or significantly contribute to a product from 0→1
- Backend-first thinker who values long-term system design over short-term hacks
- Comfortable working across engineering, operations, and manufacturing teams
- Travel (30–50%) for multi‑day Kaizen events and site deployments
- Curious about manufacturing systems and eager to understand shop‑floor realities
- Reliable under pressure and accountable for production‑quality outcomes
- Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or industrial operations environments
- Lean / Six Sigma exposure or process improvement mindset
- Experience with DMS, audit systems, or visual management tools
- Azure or comparable cloud experience (identity, AI services, data pipelines)
- Experience scaling solutions from single site to multi‑site deployments
- Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) or building internal analytics tools
