Job Summary
Application Developers are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications that support the institution's goals and meet user needs. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, and implementing effective solutions to enhance application functionality, performance, and user experience. The developer ensures that applications are scalable, secure, and aligned with best practices in software development.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement software applications that meet user requirements and align with institutional objectives.
- Perform testing and debugging of applications to identify and resolve issues, ensuring optimal functionality and performance.
- Maintain and update existing software applications, implementing enhancements and modifications based on user feedback and technological advancements.
- Document application development processes, including design specifications, user manuals, and technical documentation for future reference.
- Participate in project management activities, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, to ensure timely delivery of application development projects.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in application development, incorporating new technologies and methodologies as appropriate.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users, assisting them in effectively utilizing software applications to enhance their productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate applications with other systems and ensure seamless data exchange across platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring that applications address the needs of various departments and users.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in a related discipline or equivalent, or related experience.
- No previous experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent, or related experience.
- Proficiency in relational data querying using SQL or equivalent dialects (T‑SQL, PL/SQL, etc.).
- Experience in SQL Server management and query performance tuning/troubleshooting.
- Exposure to Azure Cloud and Oracle.
- Strong knowledge of common scripting languages (Python, Power Shell, etc.).
- Intermediate experience with C# and .NET MVC, along with working knowledge of ASP.NET, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel data operations (Formulas, Lookups, Pivot Tables, etc.), with emphasis on structured data management and XML schema‑based integrations.
- Familiarity with supporting Windows Operating Systems and general computer maintenance.
- Working knowledge of server hardware/software running Windows Server.
- Exposure to Workday.
- Working knowledge of information technology support systems related to budget accounting.
- Database administration, project planning, management and implementation for web‑based and PC platforms.
- Specific software systems and applications knowledge.
- Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) for data manipulation.
- Comprehensive understanding of ETL procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Exposure to Oracle PL/SQL and SQL Server T‑SQL.
- Exposure to Workday ERP/Financial Management.
- Exposure to MySQL.
- Exposure to HTML
