We are seeking a hands on Vice President of Restaurant Technology to lead and scale the technology environment for a rapidly growing restaurant organization expected to double in size and reach approximately $400M in revenue. This leader will own the strategy, execution, reliability, and support of all restaurant facing technology, including Point of Sale systems, network infrastructure, bandwidth management, outage response, transaction reporting, and field technology operations.
This role requires an executive who can think strategically, build scalable systems, lead teams, and still roll up their sleeves when needed. The ideal candidate has deep experience supporting high volume restaurant operations, understands the urgency of store level technology issues, and can create a technology platform that supports aggressive growth without sacrificing uptime, reporting accuracy, or guest experience.
Key Responsibilities Restaurant Technology Leadership- Own the overall strategy, roadmap, and execution for restaurant technology across all locations
- Lead technology planning for a business expected to double in size and scale to approximately $400M in revenue
- Partner closely with Operations, Finance, Marketing, Training, Development, and Executive Leadership to ensure technology supports business growth
- Evaluate current systems, vendors, processes, and infrastructure to identify gaps and scalability risks
- Build a practical, reliable, and growth ready restaurant technology function
- Oversee the Point of Sale environment across the restaurant portfolio
- Ensure transaction processing, payment systems, order flows, and reporting tools are accurate, stable, and scalable
- Manage Point of Sale upgrades, integrations, vendor relationships, support models, and system performance
- Partner with Finance and Operations to ensure sales, labor, payment, and transaction reporting is timely and accurate
- Troubleshoot Point of Sale issues directly when needed and ensure root causes are resolved
- Own restaurant network infrastructure, connectivity, bandwidth planning, and outage response
- Develop standards for reliable store connectivity, backup internet, network hardware, and monitoring
- Lead response plans for network outages, degraded bandwidth, payment disruptions, and store technology failures
- Establish proactive monitoring, escalation paths, and reporting for system availability across all locations
- Work with vendors and internal teams to reduce downtime and improve field support response times
- Ensure restaurant leadership has accurate visibility into transactions, outages, system performance, and technology trends
- Build or improve reporting around sales transactions, failed transactions, uptime, support tickets, network performance, and vendor service levels
- Partner with business leaders to convert technology data into actionable operational insights
- Improve data integrity across Point of Sale, payment, accounting, labor, inventory, loyalty, digital ordering, and reporting platforms
- Prepare the technology environment for rapid new unit growth, acquisitions, and increased transaction volume
- Create scalable processes for new restaurant openings, system deployments, support coverage, and vendor management
- Standardize technology across locations while supporting business specific operational needs
- Build a roadmap for future restaurant technology capabilities, including digital ordering, loyalty, kitchen systems, reporting tools, and automation
- Balance long term strategy with immediate operational needs
- Serve as both a senior technology executive and a hands on problem solver
- Step into critical issues involving Point of Sale, network outages, reporting failures, payment disruptions, or vendor escalations
- Support field teams during urgent technology incidents
- Lead by example with a practical, service oriented, operations first mindset
- Build credibility with restaurant operators by solving real problems quickly and effectively
- Lead, develop, and mentor internal technology team members
- Build the right team structure to support current operations and future growth
- Manage key vendors, including Point of Sale providers, network carriers, payment processors, managed service providers, reporting platforms, and hardware suppliers
- Hold vendors accountable for uptime, service levels, implementation quality, and issue resolution
- Develop budgets, project plans, support processes, and performance metrics for restaurant technology
- Significant technology leadership experience within restaurants, hospitality, retail, or another high transaction, multi location environment
- Deep experience with restaurant Point of Sale systems, payment processing, transaction reporting, and store technology support
