Position Summary
The Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) is a senior IT professional within the Datacenter Transformation Center of Excellence (COE). This role focuses on analyzing existing Oracle environments, designing and implementing transformation solutions, and resolving post‑migration issues. The DBA contributes to early project discovery, evaluates workloads, and develops Future Mode of Operation (FMO) designs aligned with the company’s service catalog.
Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct and document Oracle database discovery and inventory using standardized templates
- Develop functional specifications and FMO designs based on CMO analysis
- Independently manage Oracle integration projects from planning to execution
- Facilitate technical discussions between customers, transition teams, and DBA tower
- Define and document technical requirements with vendors and contractors
- Interview stakeholders to identify system functions and dependencies
- Implement transformation solutions in collaboration with the DBA tower
- Provide consultation on complex business and technical issues
- Document system requirements for technical implementation teams
- Develop and execute user acceptance testing (UAT) plans with measurable success criteria
- Create and maintain process documentation for network and database functions
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field
- 6+ years of professional IT experience
- 5+ years of hands‑on Oracle database administration experience, including:
- Database design
- Performance tuning (e.g., using AWR, ADDM, SQL Trace)
- Upgrades and patching
- 3+ years supporting Oracle RAC environments (installation, configuration, maintenance)
- 3+ years experience with Oracle Data Guard and ASM
- Proven experience migrating and consolidating heterogeneous Oracle database versions
- 2+ years Postgre
SQL administration experience (preferred)
- SQL Scripting

Proficient in writing and optimizing stored procedures, functions, and DDL scripts - Performance Tuning
:
Demonstrated ability to use tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager, AWR, and SQL Profiler - Backup & Recovery

Experience implementing RMAN‑based backup strategies and recovery procedures - High Availability

Experience configuring and maintaining Oracle RAC and Data Guard - Security & Compliance
:
Familiarity with database auditing, encryption, and access control policies - Data Modeling
:
Experience using tools like Erwin, ER/Studio, or Designer/2000 - OS & Hardware Knowledge
:
Mid‑level understanding of Linux/Windows server administration and hardware configurations relevant to Oracle deployments - Monitoring Tools

Experience with tools such as OEM, Nagios, or Prometheus for database health and performance monitoring - Experience with Oracle versions 9i, 10g, 11i (installation and upgrade)
- Experience implementing disaster recovery strategies using RMAN
- Experience with MySQL administration (a plus)
- Experience with SAN and local disk storage monitoring and capacity planning
- Experience designing storage solutions aligned with industry best practices
- Experience working in a 24x7 production environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (e.g., able to write technical documentation and present findings)
- Proven ability to work independently and in cross‑functional teams
- Effective time management and task prioritization in high‑pressure environments
- Demonstrated initiative and sound judgment in problem‑solving
- Ability to estimate time and resources for database‑related tasks accurately
- Experience working directly with customers and stakeholders of varying technical expertise
