Responsibilities- Serve as subject matter expert in analyzing risks with understanding of multiple security platforms and layers, including vulnerability management, intrusion detection/prevention, incident response, log correlation and management, operating systems, and identity and access management.
- Help manage information security risks to an acceptable level.
- Ensure integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications by enforcing organizational security policies through formal risk assessments, policy and governance, and internal threat analysis.
- Perform periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments (e.g., user accounts, application access, file system, external web integrity scans) to determine compliance.
- Serve as expert on enterprise network security architecture, design, implementation, and ongoing support for network security devices.
- Collaborate with Security Architect, network infrastructure team, and business units to provide security planning and technical support.
- Develop, update, and maintain information security awareness training documentation and materials; facilitate training sessions and ensure consistent application of policy and procedure guidelines.
- Prepare incident reports and assist with implementation of counter-measures or mitigating controls.
- Provide technical expertise for administration of security management tools and contribute to business cases and presentations to senior IT leadership on proposed security products and studies.
- Analyze information for product and process improvements and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Work independently or as lead on projects of medium to high complexity and maintain knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
- Experience:
5 years of experience in any combination of network security protocols/methodologies, information security and IT controls, NIST/ISO frameworks, security penetration and vulnerability assessments, and network/systems administration. - Preferred: 2 years of experience in information technology, computer operations, database security; healthcare setting experience.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent experience. - Certifications (preferred or equivalent experience): CRISC, GCIA, GCWN, GCED, GSEC, CISSP, or equivalent.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of information security regulations, HIPAA, Joint Commission, and related bodies; familiarity with common IT platforms, standards, and software development languages; strong organizational, written communication, and analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration; ability to adapt to dynamic schedules and priorities.
- Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
