Data Center Technician II

Job Description

The Data Center Technician II (DCT II) is a 24x7x365, market-based position responsible for providing physical and Level II technical support to Flexential customers and resources.

• Customer Support:
  Provide timely resolution and/or escalation of customer issues, maintain professional conduct, deliver proactive updates, address or expedite service impacting events, follow support processes, execute tape handling procedures, and perform Customer Service Delivery Audits.
• Incident Triage and Escalation:
  Provide local access and escort for vendors and carriers, track carrier access for circuit installations, perform remote hands work, support 24/7 operations, and perform data entry for infrastructure changes and reporting.
• Physical Device Alert Review:
  Review alerts throughout data centers.
• Provisioning:
  Assist or complete physical and logical installations, update documentation, and maintain clean installations.
• Remote Hands Support:
  Perform software/hardware installations and upgrades, basic troubleshooting, routine maintenance, rack and stack hardware, and onsite support for hardware and systems.
• Facility Operations:
  Maintain cleanliness, perform environmental monitoring, conduct facility rounds, manage shipping/receiving, operate badge access, report alarms, assist the Critical Infrastructure Manager, complete end‑of‑shift reporting, adhere to policies, maintain inventory, and perform generator tests.
• Training:
  Complete policy and procedure reviews, maintain proficiency on tools, and perform other assigned duties.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Customer Service, IT Support, or a trade position.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work any shift 24/7; minimum 30 hours per week at the Douglasville, GA site.

• Experience in a 24/7 production environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Solid understanding of Microsoft software and operating systems.
• Fundamental knowledge of networking: routing, subnets, and protocols.
• Technical aptitude with building management systems, UPS, generators, HVAC, PDUs, AC/DC power.
• Familiar with Ethernet cable color coding.
• Familiarity with ITIL Incident Response methodology and/or ITIL Foundations certification.
• AA, BS, or pursuing an advanced degree in technology.
• Network+, Security+, CCNA, Microsoft MCP, MCSA certifications.

• Walk or stand for 25% of the time.

Annualized/Hourly salary range: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour, dependent on experience, location, and qualifications.
