Job Summary
The Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for the position of Research Engineer II in our Experimental Combustion Lab, with a focus on gas turbines. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research on combustion processes, particularly in the context of gas turbine technology. This role involves the design, construction, and implementation of experimental setups and data acquisition systems, as well as the analysis and interpretation of combustion data.
Responsibilities
Experimental Setup and Maintenance:
Design and fabricate metal components for combustion experiments.
Plan and implement processes and instrumentation for combustion experiments and conditions ranging from high-altitude to high-pressure.
Design, construct, and maintain hardware and software packages for real-time data collection in combustion experiments.
Project Management:
Develop, implement, and update progress using tracking software tools.
Monitor and collaborate with trades working on facilities and construction projects.
Lead team meetings with students and track the progress of assigned projects.
