Senior Data Engineer – BI & Data Warehouse

Incident IQ is looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and population of a new BI data warehouse and lake that will power internal analytics and customer‑facing reporting.

• Design, implement, and scale a modern BI data warehouse/lake that supports both internal analytics and external customer‑facing reporting.
• Build and maintain automated ETL/ELT pipelines to extract and aggregate data from our SaaS platform databases (SQL, Mongo
  
  DB), Salesforce, Gainsight, and other external APIs.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to design the data architecture for embedded, customer‑facing analytics within the Incident IQ platform.
• Establish and enforce data governance, quality checks, and performance optimization to ensure high data integrity and rapid query response times.
• Be a strategic builder who aligns data architecture with business outcomes and product differentiation.
• Communicate complex technical data models in plain business language for stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Own projects autonomously, determining the technical path and executing with minimal oversight.
• Continuously investigate opportunities to uncover hidden efficiencies and improve processes.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver a customer‑facing analytics platform that adds value to our SaaS customers.

• 5–7 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, BI Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or Data Architecture in a high‑growth SaaS environment.
• Deep expertise in modern cloud data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, or AWS Redshift, and data lake architectures.
• Proven experience building complex ETL/ELT pipelines with dbt, Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or similar orchestration frameworks.
• Advanced proficiency in complex SQL, query tuning, and experience with relational (SQL Server, Postgre
  
  SQL) and No
  
  SQL (Mongo
  
  DB) databases.
• Hands‑on experience extracting and integrating data from enterprise GTM tools such as Salesforce, Gainsight, Marketo, or similar platforms.
• Programming proficiency in Python, Scala, or C# for data manipulation and automation.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and an inquisitive mindset toward business operations.
