Product Engineer, Technical Support
We are seeking a Product Support Representative to support our product line, provide technical assistance to customers, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities- Contribute to product life cycle management from creation to discontinuation.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and other teams to resolve product concerns and complete modification requests (RFD/RFA).
- Provide expert product support, handling escalated issues from front‑line customer service and technical support.
- Assist with product validation, application guidance, technical data, functionality, and replacement parts inquiries.
- Maintain and update product literature, including spec sheets and other forward‑facing documents.
- Maintain product data in Product Data Management (PDM), ensuring accurate attributes, configurator, pricing, lead times, assemblies, and imagery.
- Manage warranty deviations process (RFWD), bill of material verifications, and work‑queue items.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3–5 years of product/customer support experience.
- Experience demonstrating project ownership and completion.
- Ability to work on multiple projects/processes concurrently.
- Prior experience in lighting products and customer support.
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
- Solid understanding of lighting fundamentals.
- Strong project‑management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong sense of ownership and initiative.
- Self‑starter mentality with a strong work ethic, able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Understanding of Acuity Brands product lines:
Holophane, American Electric, Industrial, Life Safety, Commercial Lighting. - Understanding of Acuity Agile Business Systems: RFD/RFA, Drawing Requests, Quotes, Work Queue, Order Management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, PDF editor, Power BI.
1‑10%
Salary$66,500.00 to $ (range varies with experience and location).
