The Airport EMS Technology Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, support, security, and operational reliability of mission‑critical Emergency Medical Services (EMS), emergency communications, and public safety technology systems supporting airport operations.
This position manages and supports highly available systems utilized by Airport EMS personnel, emergency responders, dispatch operations, emergency communications centers, and public safety stakeholders. The role ensures operational continuity, cybersecurity compliance, systems integration, and technology resilience within a 24x7 airport environment.
The Airport EMS Technology Systems Administrator works closely with Airport IT Operations, Public Safety leadership, Emergency Management, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity teams, vendors, airlines, and external agencies to support emergency response technologies and critical operational systems.
Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 operational and technical support for airport enterprise applications, EMS technologies, emergency communications systems, and supporting infrastructure to ensure system reliability, performance, operational readiness, and security.
- Administer, maintain, monitor, and support airport EMS and public safety technologies systems.
- Support mission‑critical applications including Computer Aided Dispatch, EMS Reporting, Emergency Medical Dispatch, 911 Recording System (NICE), emergency notification platforms, mobile technologies, and emergency communication systems.
- Perform system configuration, patch management, upgrades, maintenance, and operational support activities.
- Ensure high availability and operational readiness of emergency response technologies.
- Support servers, virtualization platforms, cloud services, storage systems, and endpoint technologies supporting Airport EMS operations.
- Monitor system performance, uptime, operational alerts, and service health.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, application, and connectivity issues impacting EMS operations.
- Support integrations between EMS systems, airport operational systems, GIS, radio communications, mobile data systems, and third‑party platforms.
- Participate in disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational resilience planning.
- Support emergency communications infrastructure including radios, dispatch consoles, mobile communication devices, and emergency operations center technologies.
- Coordinate support activities during airport emergencies, incidents, and operational events.
- Assist with technology readiness for emergency response exercises and operational drills.
- Maintain compliance with CJIS, HIPAA, TSA, FAA, NIST, and airport cybersecurity standards.
- Implement cybersecurity controls including MFA, endpoint protection, access management, vulnerability remediation, and logging.
- Participate in cybersecurity audits, incident response activities, and risk assessments.
- Ensure secure configuration standards for mission‑critical systems.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, airport departments, and external agencies on technology projects and support activities.
- Participate in airport capital improvement projects involving EMS and public safety technology.
- Assist with procurement evaluations, solution assessments, testing, deployment, and operational acceptance activities.
- Support technology modernization and lifecycle management initiatives.
- Maintain system documentation, operational procedures, network diagrams, inventory records, and support documentation.
- Participate in change management, governance, operational review meetings, and compliance reporting activities.
- Develop and maintain operational support standards and escalation procedures.
- Provide Tier II/III technical support for EMS personnel, dispatch staff, emergency operations personnel, and airport stakeholders.
