Role Overview

We are seeking a results‑oriented Project Manager / Advisory Manager to join our Government Advisory practice. Reporting directly to the Advisory Partner, you will be responsible for leading project teams, managing complex work streams from planning to wrap‑up, and developing consulting‑grade client deliverables. In this role, you will apply rigorous structured methodologies to deliver high‑impact projects centered on public sector system modernization, complex procurements, business process optimization, and organizational change management.

Core

Responsibilities
  • End‑to‑End Execution:
Direct project teams and sub‑teams to execute engagements strictly to contract specifications, timeline baselines, and established budgets.
  • Artifact Management:
Author and manage critical project management artifacts, including detailed Work Breakdown Schedules (WBS), dynamic RAID logs (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions), compliance tracking matrices, and multi‑supplier communication plans.
  • Meeting Facilitation:
Lead project status meetings, functional area syncs, and stakeholder sessions; take absolute ownership of capturing and disseminating clear agendas, meeting minutes, and tracking logs.
  • Business Analysis & Future State Design:
Lead deep Discovery phases, conducting stakeholder elicitation interviews and workflow observations to map complex current‑state environments, identify process gaps, and design future‑state frameworks.
  • Research & Synthesis:
Conduct robust market scans and peer‑state best practices research; synthesize raw data into high‑quality, client‑ready deliverables, technical specifications, and executive presentations.
  • Talent Mentorship:
Provide direct guidance, career development tracking, and performance feedback to Senior Associates, Associates, and Interns assigned to your work streams.
  • Methodology Innovation:
Leverage professional technology tools to streamline manual analysis frameworks and actively contribute to the expansion of the firm’s proprietary tools and templates.
  • Trusted Advisory:
Maintain open, consistent communication with agency personnel beyond active engagements, demonstrating a thorough, big‑picture understanding of the client’s industry trends and operational realities.
  • Proposal Support:
Proactively identify out‑of‑scope tasks on active accounts and assist leadership during the proposal development process for new procurement opportunities.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Public Sector Project Delivery:
Minimum guideline of 5+ years (60 months) of progressive professional experience in management consulting or project management, with experience supporting state, local, or higher education public sector agencies.
  • Platform & Modernization Exposure:
Experience managing or supporting enterprise system modernization projects or migration to cloud‑based platforms (e.g., Workday, People Soft, Tyler Technologies, or similar SaaS/SOP architectures).
  • Procurement Cycle Familiarity:
Proven track record assisting with formal public sector procurement cycles, including the development of Statements of Need, RFI/RFP document assembly, and vendor evaluation tracking mechanisms.
  • Certifications:

Active Project Management Institute PMP Certification and associated technical or change management credentials (e.g., Prosci, CISA, CISSP) are highly valued.
