We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer for our client's growing team to drive enterprise data initiatives and lead the design, delivery, and optimization of modern data platforms and analytics solutions. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong project leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, enterprise data architecture, AI‑driven innovation, and modern data engineering practices. This person will lead data delivery efforts, partner with business and technology teams, and help shape scalable data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives across the organization.
Responsibilities- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of enterprise data engineering and analytics projects from requirements gathering through implementation and production support
- Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and enterprise data solutions
- Architect and manage data models supporting reporting, analytics, and AI/ML use cases
- Drive adoption and optimization of Microsoft Fabric capabilities including data integration, lakehouse architecture, and analytics solutions
- Develop and support Power BI dashboards, semantic models, and enterprise reporting solutions
- Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions
- Provide project leadership including delivery planning, prioritization, risk management, and coordination across cross‑functional teams
- Identify opportunities for AI innovation, automation, predictive analytics, and intelligent data solutions
- Establish and promote best practices for data governance, data quality, performance optimization, and scalability
- Mentor and guide junior and mid‑level engineers while serving as a technical leader within the organization
- Collaborate within Agile delivery environments and participate in sprint planning, estimations, and roadmap discussions
- 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Analytics Engineering
- Experience leading enterprise‑scale data projects and delivery initiatives
- Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric
- Advanced experience with Power BI including dashboards, semantic models, DAX, and reporting solutions
- Experience designing and building complex data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions
- Strong experience with data modeling, dimensional modeling, and data architecture principles
- Experience working with cloud‑based data platforms and modern analytics ecosystems
- Strong SQL skills and experience optimizing large datasets and data transformations
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders, gathering requirements, and managing project deliverables
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC processes
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience with AI/ML initiatives, AI‑enabled analytics, or data‑driven automation
- Experience with Azure data services and cloud‑native architectures
- Experience with Python, Spark, or modern data engineering frameworks
- Background leading cross‑functional technical teams or mentoring engineers
- Experience in enterprise environments supporting large‑scale analytics initiatives
- A technical leader who can balance hands‑on engineering with project leadership and delivery ownership
