We are seeking a highly skilled Sunbird DCIM Engineer to manage and maintain data center infrastructure and structured cabling documentation. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with DCIM platforms, structured cabling systems, and visualization tools, ensuring accurate asset tracking, capacity planning, and connectivity mapping across our data center environment.
Primary Responsibilities- Maintain complete and accurate structured cabling documentation across fiber (SM/MM) and copper (Cat5e/6/6a) networks.
- Update and manage rack layouts, elevations, cabling paths, and network diagrams using AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio.
- Administer Sunbird DCIM (or equivalent) for asset tracking, capacity planning, and connectivity mapping.
- Document NIC card layouts, including patch panel connections, switch ports, MAC addresses, interface speeds, and interface roles (Prod/Mgmt/iDRAC).
- Maintain device inventory, firmware data, and DCIM model libraries to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Accurately log all moves, adds, changes, and deletions (MACD) and ensure reflection in DCIM systems.
- Support quarterly and annual audits, compliance checks, and overall data center governance activities.
- Collaborate with cabling vendors, network, and server teams to maintain end‑to‑end connectivity maps.
- Maintain and update device templates, rack layouts, and structured cabling databases for capacity planning and forecasting.
- Provide visual diagrams and documentation to support new deployments, expansions, or migrations.
- Strong experience with structured cabling systems, including fiber (SM/MM) and copper (Cat5e/6/6a).
- Proficiency in cable documentation, labeling standards, and connectivity mapping.
- Hands‑on experience with DCIM platforms, preferably Sunbird
, for asset, capacity, and connectivity management. - Ability to maintain accurate patching records, rack elevations, and device templates.
- Strong skills in AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio for rack, floor, and network diagramming.
- Experience mapping NIC ports, switch ports, MAC addresses, and interface roles.
- Understanding of firmware data currency, device models, templates, and configuration accuracy.
- Familiarity with workflow, change management, and MACD processes.
- Excellent attention to detail, documentation discipline, and audit readiness.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with network, server, and data center operations teams.
- Prior experience with data center operations or network engineering.
- Knowledge of capacity planning, asset lifecycle management, and structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA).
- Experience in data center compliance and audit preparation.
