Job SummaryThe Data Governance Coordinator manages the oversight of the institutional data governance program covering multiple AU data domains, including Academic Affairs, Enrollment and Student Affairs, External Relations, Finance and Administration, Philanthropy and Alumni, Research, and Strategic Partnerships. The role builds relationships across units, establishes data standards, promotes responsible data use, ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, and supports data literacy throughout the institution.
Responsibilities- Data Governance Framework Coordination
:
Oversees and maintains the university data governance framework, defines roles and responsibilities of key stakeholders, documents policies and procedures, produces guidance documents, and leads working groups to resolve data integrity issues. - Data Governance Systems and Tools Management
:
Coordinates the administration of data governance tools and systems, including the systems list, documentation, data element dictionary, reports inventory, and compliance documentation; manages evolving access to data based on roles. - Data Governance and Data Literacy Training
:
Creates and manages outreach strategies, develops communications, provides training and support on data governance concepts for all institutional data roles. - Data Governance Profession
:
Represents AU in consortia with peer universities and professional organizations, recommending strategic directions and priorities to AU leadership. - Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and five years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in data, reporting and/or systems management.
- Experience and knowledge in higher education institutions.
- Knowledge and experience of data architecture, business intelligence, and analytics.
- Experience with or knowledge of business process improvement methodology.
- Strong project planning and management skills.
Knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
- Knowledge of data governance concepts, techniques, processes and applications.
- Knowledge of data architecture, business intelligence, and analytics.
- Knowledge of higher education institutions and enterprise data in a university context.
- Experience or knowledge of business process improvement methodology.

Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of the standard business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B13;
Salary: $68,500-$73,320 annually (commensurate with qualifications within the established range)
Benefits include health, dental, life insurance, Teachers Retirement System (or Optional Retirement Plan), paid vacation, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays. Full-time employees employed more than six months may be considered for the Tuition Assistance Program.
