Job Summary

As GoTo Foods continues to grow its presence and innovate within the food service industry, the need for a sophisticated, integrated marketing technology framework becomes a priority. We are looking for a skilled and innovative Principal Engineer, Marketing Technology to architect, implement, and manage our customer data platform solution that drives our customer engagement and campaign orchestration strategies. This role will focus on building scalable systems for automation, personalizing customer journeys, and integrating marketing platforms to enable seamless multi‑channel orchestration.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of marketing technologies, automation and orchestration solution for QSR/retail, hands‑on technical expertise, and a passion for solving complex problems that bridge marketing and engineering. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in marketing technology and customer data architecture, along with strong cross‑functional leadership skills. This person will partner closely with Customer Experience, Product, Data, Analytics, Privacy, and Digital teams to ensure our CDP capabilities support business growth, audience activation, orchestration, measurement, and continuous optimization.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing Technologies, the Principal Engineer Marketing Technology will wield a blend of technical expertise and strategic foresight to merge disparate marketing and loyalty technologies into a cohesive, efficient, and effective ecosystem. This ecosystem will serve as the digital backbone of our Marketing operations, supporting brand strategies across our diverse portfolio and ensuring that technology investments are aligned with business objectives.

Functions
  • CDP Management and Integrations
  • Develop a comprehensive CDP technical strategy that aligns with our marketing goals, ensuring seamless integration of various marketing technologies and loyalty platforms.
  • Oversee the technical integration efforts of our CDP with Marketing platforms, CRM systems, marketing automation tools, digital analytics, paid media to form a cohesive marketing technology ecosystem.
  • Ensure that the customer data platform is scalable, secure, and optimized for performance, delivering a seamless experience across all customer touchpoints.
  • Ensure the CDP serves as a trusted foundation for segmentation, personalization, lifecycle marketing, loyalty, and campaign orchestration.
  • Define and enforce standards for data quality, taxonomy, event design, schema governance, and platform performance.
  • Work alongside product managers and technical leads to define and maintain a CDP technical roadmap that supports the evolution of our loyalty and marketing technology stack.
  • Cross‑Functional Partnership
  • Partner with Customer Engagement, Loyalty, Product, Data Engineering, Analytics, and Privacy teams to align platform capabilities with business goals.
  • Support use cases across customer acquisition, retention, personalization, journey orchestration, and measurement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize enhancements, define requirements, and ensure successful delivery.
  • Act as a key technical advisor on customer data strategy, activation readiness, and marketing technology innovation.
  • Engineering Leadership
  • Provide technical leadership for the marketing technology engineering roadmap with a primary focus on CDP capabilities.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and implementation plans.
  • Lead solution design, technical documentation, and engineering best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve platform reliability, speed, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data, integration, and platform issues.
  • Act as a technical liaison between the customer engagement, campaign operations and technology departments, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and operational excellence.
