About the OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled Service Now CMDB Platform Engineer to join a large-scale enterprise technology organization focused on building a Service-Aware Operating Model. This role is ideal for someone passionate about Service Now platform engineering, CMDB governance, workflow automation, and configuration management at enterprise scale.
You will play a key role in transforming how technology services are modeled, governed, and managed by developing scalable platform capabilities that improve service visibility, ownership accountability, operational efficiency, and data quality.
What You'll Do Platform Automation & Workflow Engineering- Design and implement Service Now workflows supporting CMDB governance, service onboarding, lifecycle management, and ownership accountability.
- Develop automation solutions that reduce manual effort while improving consistency, traceability, and compliance.
- Build scalable workflow solutions aligned with enterprise operating model objectives.
- Implement governance controls using Business Rules, Flow Designer, scripting, approval workflows, and platform-native automation.
- Translate governance requirements into enforceable platform behavior.
- Ensure service and configuration data meets enterprise standards for quality, completeness, and accuracy.
- Partner with architecture and governance teams to implement policy-driven controls and guardrails.
- Develop and enhance forms, work spaces, dashboards, and user experiences within Service Now.
- Improve onboarding, ownership validation, certification, and remediation processes.
- Support service-aware operational visibility and lifecycle management capabilities.
- Refactor legacy customizations into maintainable, upgrade-safe Service Now solutions.
- Improve platform sustainability by reducing complexity, technical debt, and unsupported customizations.
- Follow Service Now engineering best practices and platform standards.
- Enable automation and operational workflows through trusted CMDB and service relationship data.
- Support service mapping, event context, incident prioritization, and remediation workflows.
- Improve enterprise visibility into service dependencies and operational impacts.
- Strong hands-on experience with Service Now platform development and engineering
- Expertise in CMDB, Configuration Management, and Service Now ITOM
- Experience with Flow Designer, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, and workflow automation
- Strong understanding of CMDB governance, lifecycle management, and service ownership models
- Experience designing scalable, maintainable, and upgrade-safe Service Now solutions
- Ability to translate governance requirements into automated platform controls
- Experience with Service Mapping, Discovery, and CSDM (Common Service Data Model)
- Knowledge of policy enforcement through automation and governed workflows
- Experience supporting large enterprise or highly regulated environments
- Exposure to service-aware operating models and operational excellence initiatives
