We are hiring an IT Desktop Support Technician to provide L1 and L2 support for a major oil and gas customer with Rock Springs, WY location.
Engagement- 1099 (contractor) position
- Forecasted to last 8 weeks
- May extend
- May be opportunities for more permanent work (W2 salary role)
- Work to be performed onsite, no hybrid or remote opportunities
- $30-$40 per hour depending on experience
- Minimum of 40 hours per week
- Parking downtown fully reimbursable
We are looking to hire a skilled IT Desktop Support Engineer to join an established team, that supports one of our major oil and gas customers. The team provides L1 and L2 IT support for a large number of users local and remote to Rock Springs, WY.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and resolve IT incidents. Some examples include:
- Printer related issues
- Connectivity
- Software related issues
- Operating system
- Installation of peripheral components
- AV/VC configuration and problem resolution
- Installation of software packages and minor remediation
- Escalation to appropriate party where appropriate
- Ownership of issue
- Maintains employee confidence and protects corporate assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential
- Creates and maintains a clear and thorough documentation
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Adheres to the company’s values – integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment and innovation.
- Supports company vision and mission
- Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
- 1-5+ years of IT Desktop Support experience
- BSc in Computer Science or relevant field
- Exceptional ability in diagnosing and solving computer related problems while maintaining patience, professionalism, and courtesy
- In depth understanding of Windows desktop operating systems and utilities.
- Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
- Microsoft Office & O365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook with emphasis on Excel). High degree of competency in troubleshooting Smartphones/Mobile devices, tablet devices, as well as various smartphone devices.

- Enthusiastic with a questioning and challenging attitude
- Strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to make rational decisions under pressure - Proven ability to work within a team
