Position Description
The Technology Specialist I has a high level of stakeholder engagement and is responsible for providing front‑line technical assistance and customer service administration to the school and its components. They also ensure the security and functionality of the schools’ network infrastructure; assist teachers, staff, and students with issues that arise with devices, software, or network access; troubleshoot and maintain Wi‑Fi and other network connectivity on user devices in addition to installing and configuring various hardware around the buildings.
The Technology Specialist I also manages the Incident IQ ticketing system, end‑user troubleshooting & knowledge base, user accounts, directories, and permissions and maintains various audiovisual equipment and digital signage.
- Education:
Some College/ Associate degree in information technology or a related field - Previous Work‑Related
Experience:
1–3 years of prior work‑related experience
- Meraki Wi‑Fi Training
- Google LMS Training
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Data Management Experience
User Support – 50%
- Assist teachers, staff, and students with various equipment tasks
- Provide users with support pertaining to various devices in a classroom or learning environment
- Troubleshoot various technical issues and implement solutions
Asset Management – 35%
- Facilitate proper usage and administration of assets, in the form of software, such as Microsoft programs, Apple management, and Google learning management systems (LMS)
- Manage installation and configuration process for fixed assets such as Smartboards, audiovisual equipment, cameras, printers, and digital signage
- Track and manage school devices for teachers, staff, and students
System Administration – 15%
- Install, maintain, and support various software applications across the organization
- Manage user accounts, including but not limited to user authorizations and permissions
- Troubleshoot and maintain Wi‑Fi, WAN, LAN, and other network components
Moderate risk and discomfort level:
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, carts, or machines; exposure to contagious diseases or irritant chemicals. Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear, such as masks, gowns, coats, boots, goggles, gloves, or shields.
