Analyst Programmer, Lead

Enterprise Data Management and Analytics (EDMA):
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness / Enterprise Data Management and Analytics (EDMA) is responsible for the collection, development, and maintenance of data resources to provide the foundation for all data analysis and reporting needs and supports the strategic planning and policy‑making processes at Georgia State University. EDMA facilitates the flow of accurate, timely information and all levels of management in obtaining information and interpreting results.

• Provide strategic, analytical, governance, and systems support for a data warehouse aimed at optimizing the utilization of Georgia State University’s data resources.
• Assist in business process analysis and evaluation of user requests for new or modified programs. Provide support to end users regarding data definitions and data usage. Assist end users in query writing against warehouse tables.
• Assist in developing the warehouse data dictionary and documentation of warehouse business practices. Assist in a Data Governance project as a functional and technical writer.
• Provide support for Pentaho servers and client environments. Monitor nightly ETL processes.
• Assist in source‑to‑target mapping data. Assist in building data models by designing rules and key constraints.
• Test, document, and perform quality assurance on code. Assist in peer code review.

Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

• Work experience in higher education, particularly institutional data warehousing.
• Extensive experience in Hitachi Vantara Analytics platform, especially in PDI (Pentaho Data Integration) and Spoon client components.
• Experience supporting the design, development, testing, and deployment of Workday integrations and Workday integration technologies such as EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, BIRT, or Workday web services/APIs.
• Knowledge of Ellucian Banner student systems and People Soft Human Resource Systems and People Soft Financial Systems.
• Experience in data management in higher education. In‑depth knowledge of database and data warehouse structures as well as business intelligence tools and system implementation.
• Experience with reporting application Argos and BI application Oracle Apex.
