Esri ArcGIS Developer
We are seeking an experienced Esri ArcGIS Developer to support enterprise GIS application development and implementation initiatives. The ideal candidate will design, develop, test, and maintain GIS applications and services while collaborating with cross-functional IT teams to deliver scalable and secure GIS solutions. This role requires strong expertise in Esri technologies, geospatial systems, enterprise integrations, and modern application development practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain customized GIS web applications, web services, mobile applications, and enterprise solutions
- Develop GIS web editing and mapping applications using Esri technologies
- Build and support geoprocessing and GIS web services
- Perform unit, integration, system, performance, and quality assurance testing
- Upgrade and migrate applications and services to current platforms and architectures
- Maintain and troubleshoot existing GIS applications and services
- Implement security controls and best practices for GIS systems and data
- Create and maintain technical documentation and project artifacts
- Collaborate with architects, developers, business stakeholders, and project teams
- Support complex GIS-related troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Develop automation and ETL processes using scripting solutions
- Provide technical guidance and support to GIS team members
- Estimate work effort and complete tasks within project timelines
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field
- 4+ years of application programming/development experience
- 4+ years of experience with PL/SQL and SQL
- 4+ years of experience with Python scripting or Arc Py
- 3+ years of experience developing Esri ArcGIS Server and Geo Processing services
- 3+ years of experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Portal, or Hub administration
- 3+ years of experience with Esri Experience Builder and Arcade
- 2+ years of experience with ArcGIS Pro or Arc Map
- Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), Git, and modern frameworks such as Angular or React
- Strong knowledge of geospatial concepts including spatial analysis and map projections
- Understanding of IT security concepts and implementation patterns within Esri technologies
- Experience with ArcGIS applications such as Field Maps, Survey
123, Navigator, and Operations Dashboard - Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Esri JavaScript SDK including custom widget development
- Experience with Geo Event Server, Velocity, Roads and Highways, or Image Server
- Geodatabase administration experience in multi-user environments
- Experience with dynamic segmentation and transportation data models
- Experience with Safe Software FME
- ArcGIS Pro Add-in development experience
- Knowledge of service-oriented and cloud implementation patterns
- Relevant Esri Developer/Enterprise Certifications or GISP certification
