Summary:
Under the direction of the Vice President of Systems Reliability, the AVP-Technology will be responsible for the overall management and leadership of AT&T's infrastructure and operations functions. This role will develop and implement strategies to optimize IT infrastructure and operations, ensuring alignment with AT&T's overall business strategies. The AVP will manage direct reports, oversee budget responsibilities, and contribute to the Leadership Team's goals.
- Responsible for the development and delivery of IT-related work relative to the technical sub-families, including Business Support, Architecture and Engineering for Compute, Storage, Enterprise Backup and Recovery (E ), and Databases.
- Lead the implementation, patching, and upgrades of systems in adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance, proactively addressing potential issues.
- Collaborate with other departments and IT groups to identify and address infrastructure requirements, ensuring seamless support and integration across the organization.
- Work closely with the cybersecurity team to maintain a strong security posture and protect sensitive data.
- Promote a security-first mindset and ensure all infrastructure solutions adhere to security best practices.
- Partner with vendors and suppliers regarding new products/services, changes to existing services, and support issues.
- Lead technology planning to select and utilize appropriate technologies and solutions.
- Develop strategic initiatives aligned with AT&T's strategic plans and business objectives.
- Stay updated on evolving technology and industry trends, evaluating changes and new technology for potential adoption.
- Oversee the certification and design of new hardware infrastructure and database technology solutions.
- Provide technical operations support for compute, storage, and system databases.
- Manage the technical discipline of software delivery project/program management associated with on-premise infrastructure design and deployment.
- Establish objectives and key results (OKRs) to measure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Demonstrate support for AT&T's corporate values, strategy, mission, and vision with respect for diversity and knowledge levels, fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment.
- Promote a culture of learning, professional development, continuous improvement, and innovation within the team.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations management.
- Proven track record of leading large teams and managing complex IT environments.
- Strong understanding of current IT infrastructure technologies and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong focus on IT process, availability, and security standards.
- Ability to align organizational structure, processes, capabilities, and resources with business objectives.
- High level of integrity and trust, excellent prioritization skills, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to manage high-priority initiatives in a fast‑paced, highly technical environment.
- Strong people and vendor management skills.
- Positive work ethic, promoting communication and collaboration.
- Ability to travel to fulfill responsibilities and attend professional seminars.
