PositionPurpose:
The Project Leader Decision Analytics position assists in the development of advanced analytics to support the company’s strategic objectives. The role works cross-functionally with business partners from Merchandising, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Online and IT to design and implement decision analytics, tools, and new visibility/reporting capabilities. This role has responsibility for creating analytics, translating business questions to actionable insights, supporting ongoing analytical needs, designing new analytical tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and owning end-to-end project portfolios to deliver high quality analytical solutions for The Home Depot.
This role is expected to leverage effective communication skills to translate complex analyses into understandable insights, with a passion to learn and develop.
- 40% Project Control – Develop an effective plan for controlling project scope, schedule and cost, monitor execution, and coordinate documentation to explain changes or potential baseline changes and ensure approved changes are implemented.
- 30% Project Communications – Develop an effective plan for communicating project information to the project team and stakeholders. Produce written status reports, scorecards, and presentations for senior leadership.
- 10% Project Risk Assessment – Lead the definition of project risks and required mitigation approaches. Monitor project activities for risks, escalade or mitigate promptly, and advise team and stakeholders of actions required/completed.
- 10% Project Lessons Learned – Capture key lessons learned at completion of a project or phase, communicate to peer Project Leaders, and apply them to future projects.
- 10% Project Environment – Share responsibility for creating a positive environment, ensuring teams are staffed, duties and responsibilities understood, and inclusive environment maintained.
- Reports to Sr Finance Manager.
- This role has no direct reports.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position, with frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be need to move or lift light articles.
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- 3+ years of experience in SQL, SAS, Tableau, R, Python and similar tools; strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
- MBA / Master’s degree in Analytics, Finance, or Information Systems or related field.
- Prior experience in corporate finance, retail, or analytics.
- Knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired via completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
