What We Do / ProjectThe Manager of Technology Strategic Sourcing (TSS) will collaborate with global internal clients across technology organizations to execute sourcing and procurement strategies that drive value creation and improved business capability. The Manager will be responsible for managing technology acquisitions from mid-tier and top-tier technology partnerships, with a primary focus on deal negotiation and strategy in the technical and professional services fields.
Responsibilities will include managing sourcing and competitive events for more complex technology acquisitions, contract planning and negotiation, creating and implementing category strategies, and development of sourcing and relationship management policies.
The Manager will manage sourcing projects and handle business and technical contract negotiations for mid-tier and top-tier technology transactions, including:
- Gathering requirements from relevant stakeholders
- Reading, interpreting, understanding, and communicating technology contract terms
- Partnering with legal to understand legal concepts and challenges and problem solving to overcome them
- Working with Finance and business stakeholders to identify budgetary constraints and develop desired commercial terms
- Negotiating pricing, Statements of Work (SOWs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and other technical/operational documents
- Owning overall responsibility for delivering finalized agreements in accordance with timing requirements and key objectives
- Delivering cost savings through daily work and proactive initiatives as part of the Technology Sourcing team
- Act as liaison for Technology Business Unit stakeholders across Legal, Finance, Security, and Procurement throughout contract negotiation and relationship management
- Implement best practices and stay current on sourcing, contract negotiation, and relationship management trends
- Identify opportunities within partner categories such as supplier and technology rationalization
- Manage business relationships with mid- and top-tier technology vendors, focusing on escalations and strategic matters
- Prepare briefing documents, status reports, and performance insights for senior leadership
- Build strong internal client relationships and act as a trusted advisor
- Maintain accurate contract records, vendor data, and transaction details
- Assess technology vendors and products to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and strategy
- Ensure compliance with sourcing and procurement policies
- Support additional responsibilities as needed
- Contract drafting and redlining experience
- 5+ years of experience evaluating, drafting, reviewing, and redlining
- 5+ contracts
- Project Management / Organizational Skills
- 5+ years of experience managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- 5+ years of experience summarizing contractual issues and guiding stakeholders effectively
- Advanced degree (JD or MBA) preferred
- Experience with tools such as Ariba, CLM platforms, SpendHQ, or Agiloft
- Experience in technology and media/entertainment, especially managing technical and professional services suppliers
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to coach others
- Ability to analyze complex issues and evaluate variable factors
- Sound judgment in selecting methods and evaluating supplier responses
- Awareness of market intelligence to support negotiations
- Flexibility in adapting to changing business needs in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to independently drive deals to execution while collaborating across teams
- Strong team orientation, accountability, and proactive mindset
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Ability to work across global teams and accommodate non-traditional hours as needed
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Education / CertificationsBachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in business, technology, or related field required.
