Job Title: It Business Analyst
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Duration: 12-month contract with extension
Interview Type: In Person Interview Only - Must be a Georgia Resident. No out-of-state applications.
Job DescriptionActs as the bridge between business and IT to design and implement system solutions. Analyzes complex needs, documents requirements, supports project rollouts, and provides advanced training and support to help users maximize functional business tools.
Responsibilities- Lead workshops, interviews, and focus groups with cross-functional stakeholders to extract, analyze, and prioritize complex business requirements.
- Translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications, user stories, use cases, workflow diagrams, and data models.
- Participate in system design sessions to ensure technical solutions align with business goals.
- Partner with Project Managers and Technical Leads to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables; coordinate and participate in deployment, data migration, and rollout of new or enhanced applications.
- Define User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategies, write comprehensive test scenarios, and coordinate with business users to ensure deliverables meet validation criteria and quality standards.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for core functional business tools; develop training materials, conduct user training sessions, and provide advanced Tier-2/Tier-3 support to resolve complex functional system issues.
- Continuously evaluate existing business processes and system workflows to identify bottlenecks, proposing innovative, automated, or optimized solutions.
- Advanced analytical thinking: synthesis of complex, ambiguous data into clear, structured requirements.
- Technical literacy: strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) models (Agile/Scrum, Waterfall) and familiarity with data tools (SQL queries, data mapping tools, reporting dashboards).
- Stakeholder management: exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with a track record of successfully managing expectations across diverse user groups and leadership levels.
- Tools: proficiency with business analysis and project tracking tools (Jira, Confluence, Miro, Clickup, Figma, or equivalent).
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems) from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of directly related experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or IT project environments.
- Professional certification such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or PMI-PBA (preferred).
- Experience leading Agile scrum teams or acting as a proxy Product Owner (preferred).
