IT Business Analyst
Location: Atlanta, GA.
Work Type: HYBRID in Office 1 day Onsite per week and remote rest of the days.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis & Requirements Management
- Participate in the demand management process to assist business units in developing business cases, defining project scope, and documenting requirements for new systems or enhancements to existing systems.
- Gather, analyze, validate, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear solution requirements and technical documentation.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions.
- Identify business process inefficiencies, operational pain points, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Develop and document:
- Business process workflows
- Current and future state analyses
- User stories and use cases
- Functional and system requirements
- System interaction diagrams
- Data mappings and logical data models
- Metadata documentation
- Screen mockups and wireframes
- Reporting and training requirements
- Test cases and acceptance criteria
- Ensure requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and validate that business requirements have been successfully implemented.
- Support the development of Statements of Work (SOW), solicitation documents, procurement packages, and related artifacts.
- Primarily support IT acquisitions involving software, hardware, professional services, or technology solutions.
- Assist in gathering documentation and information from vendors, contractors, and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with IT, Procurement, Legal, Security, and technical teams to support vendor evaluations and procurement activities.
- Participate in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities and transition requirements to development and project teams.
- Collaborate & support documented requirements with project managers, architects, developers, QA testers, and business teams throughout project execution under the guidance of the IT BA Manager.
- Assist project managers with stakeholder coordination.
- Communicate business requirements and priorities to technical implementation teams.
- Create diagrams, charts, specifications, and supporting artifacts to guide/support development and solution design.
- Provide status updates, maintain weekly work logs, and update assigned work tickets.
- Develop task estimates and target completion dates for project schedules and work management activities.
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ Years of experience working as an IT Business Analyst supporting IT projects, system implementations, or technology procurements.
- 5+ Years of strong understanding of business/data process analysis methodologies and SDLC processes.
- 5+ Years of experience facilitating stakeholder meetings, workshops, and JAD sessions.
- 5+ Years of ability to gather, document, and manage complex business, data, and functional requirements.
- 5+ Years of experience developing process flows, workflow diagrams, and functional specifications.
- 5+ Years of strong analytical, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- 5+ Years of ability to work collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders.
- 5+ Years of experience supporting procurement documentation, vendor coordination, or contract-related activities is preferred.
- 5+ Years of familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies is preferred.
- 5+ Years of documenting AS IS & TO BE Process & User Interface Mockups.
- 5+ Years of experience in developing statements/scope of work for contracting and procurement.
- 5+ Years of experience managing multiple projects/tasks at once; results oriented and highly organized.
- 5+ Years of experience in strong interviewing, active listening, communication, presentation, moderating meetings, and interpersonal skills - influencing, negotiating, etc.
- 5+ Years of experience in strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare presentations and write scope/specifications.
