Work Schedule:
2-3 days onsite. Word address 600 W Peachtree St NW, Atlanta, GA 30308.
Position up to 9 months to start. Pay rate is $60.92 or $65 corp to corp.
Qualifications- Agile certifications required (Scrum Master certified at minimum).
- 5+ years experience working with Agile teams.
- Proficiency in Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence), Service Now (ITSM and Agile Modules), MS Teams, and Office
365 (3+ years).
The Scrum Master & Agile Coach role for Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) IT Division includes facilitating and teaching IT Team Leads how to effectively run Scrum events, reinforce GDOT-adopted Agile principles, manage incidents continuously, analyze and remove impediments, guide teams in Scrum and Kanban frameworks to create productivity.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate events to foster IT Team Lead Scrum and Accountability Training.
- Train and support IT Team Leads in leading Scrum events such as daily stand‑ups, planning, sprint planning, reviews, ticket‑tracking board clean‑up, and retrospectives.
- Assist with ceremony refinement to promote best practices for story writing and task prioritization.
- Collaborate with IT Team Leads to ensure organization, project‑tool proficiency, and alignment with IT Leadership priorities.
- Coach alongside IT Team Leads to ensure team members are well versed in Scrum and Kanban principles, fostering self‑organization and continuous improvement.
- Analyze and remove impediments by training IT Team Leads to manage incidents and identify blockers.
- Collaborate with Technical Leads and IT Management to keep and maintain a clear, prioritized backlog.
- Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives and implementation of actionable changes.
- Reinforce process adherence by redirecting IT Team Leads to adhere to chosen frameworks and best practices.
- Foster collaboration by coaching Sprint and Kanban teams to work collaboratively toward incremental deployment.
- Drive team effectiveness by documenting training, best practices, and a living Working Agreement.
- Strong knowledge of both Scrum and Kanban methodologies and principles.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills, with documentation of training and working agreements.
- Ability to analyze, identify, and resolve team impediments and conflicts.
- Experience in managing and prioritizing backlogs aligned with IT Leadership priority.
- Strong communication skills facilitating collaboration among team members, technical leads, architects, project managers, security teams, and stakeholders.
- Understanding of Kanban's core principles: explicit workflow, visualizing work, limiting work in progress.
- Understanding of Scrum best practices for daily scrums, collaboration, risk analysis, and participation.
- Servant leadership mindset focused on team needs and enabling self‑organization.
- Proficient in Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence), Service Now (ITSM and Agile Modules), MS Teams, and Office
365.
