ABOUT KEH

KEH is the world’s largest reseller of pre‑owned camera gear and a trusted name for photographers, videographers, and creators. Founded in 1979, the company maintains an inventory of more than 55,000 items, serves a loyal community of professional and enthusiast photographers, and has built its reputation on an industry‑standard equipment grading system, a 180‑day warranty, and a customer experience consistently ranked among the best in online retail.

The re‑commerce market is in the early stages of a significant growth cycle as consumers increasingly seek to buy, sell, and trade pre‑owned products. KEH is investing aggressively to capture this opportunity - expanding its product categories, growing adjacent business lines, and building the technology and operational infrastructure to support the next stage of scale. KEH is majority owned by D Cubed Group, a private equity firm.

THE ROLE

KEH is seeking a hands‑on Senior Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of its on‑premises and hybrid technology environment. The role exists to bring senior technical leadership, operating discipline, and clear accountability to an environment currently supported by a junior internal engineer and a co‑managed MSP responsible for portions of platform engineering and networking.

You will serve as the technical anchor for the function: setting infrastructure standards, defining the roadmap, mentoring the junior engineer, and holding external partners accountable for delivery. This is a lead‑and‑build opportunity for someone who can make sound architecture and security decisions while remaining close to the servers, scripts, incidents, and project work that keep the business running.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

On‑Premises Infrastructure. Own the reliability, scalability, security, and lifecycle of servers, virtualization platforms, storage, backup and recovery systems, and the broader on‑premises environment, including networking standards and outcomes.

Hybrid Identity and Microsoft 365. Own the health and integrity of Active Directory, Entra , Entra Connect synchronization, hybrid Exchange, and the systems that connect KEH’s on‑premises and Microsoft 365 environments.

Reliability and Operations. Establish disciplined patching, monitoring, capacity planning, incident response, backup validation, and disaster recovery practices that reduce operational risk and improve resilience.

Automation and Standardization. Build and maintain Power Shell‑based automation for provisioning, bulk changes, recurring maintenance, and other high‑volume work to reduce manual effort and error rates.

MSP Governance. Act as KEH’s internal technical owner for the co‑managed MSP relationship, defining requirements, reviewing proposed changes, validating work quality, and aligning delivery with KEH’s architecture and security posture.

Team Development. Directly lead and develop the Junior Infrastructure Engineer through daily guidance, configuration and script review, structured knowledge transfer, and a clear development path.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex infrastructure, virtualization, networking, backup, and hybrid identity issues.
  • Define and document infrastructure standards, operating procedures, runbooks, system inventories, and architecture diagrams.
  • Build a prioritized infrastructure roadmap covering risk reduction, modernization, capacity, lifecycle management, and business continuity.
  • Plan and execute migrations, upgrades, consolidations, and hardware refreshes using limited‑scope testing and controlled rollout practices.
  • Manage patching and vulnerability‑remediation cadences across servers and supporting infrastructure, with clear exception handling and reporting.
  • Monitor performance, capacity, availability, backup success, and emerging operational risks; address issues before they disrupt the business.
  • Test disaster recovery procedures and restore processes,…
