Database Administrator, Cloud Computing: Infrastructure & Operations
Job Description
As a Cloud Database Administrator, you will be a key contributor in managing, optimizing, and securing Infor’s cloud database infrastructure. You’ll work closely with cloud engineers, architects, and Dev Ops teams to deliver high-performance, scalable, and resilient data solutions across multiple cloud platforms. This is a hands‑on role where innovation, automation, and a customer‑first mindset are essential.
Responsibilities- Manage and maintain cloud-based relational and non-relational database systems (Aurora PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) across multiple environments.
- Design and implement high availability, backup, disaster recovery, and data replication strategies in cloud‑native environments.
- Automate database provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance tasks using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or cloud‑native services.
- Collaborate with development and Dev Ops teams to optimize schema design, indexing strategies, and query performance.
- Monitor database health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to meet SLAs.
- Maintain security best practices for data access, encryption, and compliance with industry standards such as SOC2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA.
- Participate in incident response eTorts and root cause analysis for database‑related events.
- Contribute to cloud cost optimization eTorts through eTicient database provisioning and resource management.
- Experience in database administration, including cloud‑native or hybrid environments.
- Experience with one or more cloud platforms (AWS Aurora/RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL/Spanner).
- Experience in SQL and performance tuning across high‑volume transactional systems.
- Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code and automation frameworks (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation, or similar).
- Experience of database security, data masking, auditing, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Cloud Watch, Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic).
- Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Database – Specialty, Azure Database Administrator Associate, etc.).
- Experience with multi‑tenant SaaS environments and database scaling strategies.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and how databases integrate into Dev Ops workflows.
- Exposure to No
SQL and data warehousing technologies (e.g., Redis, DynamoDB, Snowflake).
