Communications Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a creative and skilled communications professional to support a Data Science team by transforming analytical project outcomes into compelling presentations and visual stories for internal stakeholders. This role serves as a bridge between technical teams and business audiences, helping communicate the value and impact of data-driven initiatives in a clear, engaging, and visually appealing format.

Key Responsibilities

+ Develop high-quality PowerPoint presentations and short-form videos (approximately 2 minutes) that highlight insights, project outcomes, and business value.

+ Partner with data scientists and business stakeholders to translate complex analytical concepts into clear, digestible content for non-technical audiences.

+ Conduct interviews with data scientists, project leaders, and internal clients to gather information and success stories related to analytics initiatives.

+ Create engaging narratives that demonstrate how data science projects support business objectives and improve customer experiences.

+ Design presentation graphics and visual elements that enhance storytelling and audience engagement.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document and communicate project achievements, milestones, and outcomes.

Required Qualifications

+ 2-4 years of experience creating professional PowerPoint presentations and short-form video content.

+ 2-4 years of experience conducting interviews and gathering information from stakeholders.

+ Strong ability to translate technical or complex topics into clear, audience-friendly communications.

+ Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.

+ Experience working collaboratively with technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

+ 2+ years of experience creating graphics and visual assets for presentations.

+ Experience supporting data, analytics, business intelligence, or technology-focused teams.

+ Experience communicating customer-related insights, business metrics, or operational data.

+ Utility industry experience is a plus.

Additional Information

Portfolio/Work Samples Preferred:

Candidates are encouraged to submit presentation samples, creative portfolios, or other examples of communication and storytelling work. While not required, providing work samples will help demonstrate presentation design and content development capabilities.

Work Environment

+ Hybrid schedule: 3 days per week onsite.

+ No travel required.

Business Impact

The team is actively supporting a large-scale customer platform transformation and developing new dashboards, analytics products, and reporting capabilities. This role will play a key part in ensuring stakeholders understand the value, insights, and business impact generated by these initiatives.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
