GIS Technician 3
Location:
Atlanta, GA
Schedule:
Hybrid Schedule is Monday-Thursday in office with Friday remote.
5+ years of experience in GIS or a related field.
Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or a related discipline.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee GIS technical operations, including data management and visualization.
- Lead complex GIS projects from data collection through visualization.
- Mentor and support junior GIS technicians.
- Ensure GIS activities align with organizational strategies.
- Work with stakeholders to gather and understand GIS technical requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement of GIS processes and operations.
- Create specialized queries, maps, and reports based on customer requirements.
- Perform application testing and document defects.
- Interface with users to gather and document requested changes.
- Process, prepare, and convert data from various formats into GIS.
- Perform QA/QC on versioned data before deployment to the production environment.
5+ years of hands-on experience with GIS tools, databases, and methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in:
- Esri ArcGIS Pro
- Esri ArcGIS 10.2x
- Linear Referencing
- Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Intermediate proficiency in:
- Esri ArcGIS Enterprise
- Utility Network
- Model Builder
- Python
Strong knowledge of Linear Referencing techniques and concepts.
Experience with the Utility and Pipeline Data Model (UPDM).
