Senior Oracle SQL Analyst – Atlanta, GA

Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Oracle SQL Analyst in Atlanta, GA, with 5+ years of experience in Oracle SQL development and transactional databases. The role involves writing complex SQL queries, performing data analysis, and creating operational reports. Candidates must be proficient in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and data visualization tools such as Tableau. The position requires onsite presence; remote work is not permitted.

Ideal candidates will have experience in criminal justice or large transactional database environments and must be able to report onsite Day 1. Only candidates located near Atlanta, GA, will be considered.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Oracle SQL development against transactional databases.
  • Proficient writing of complex SQL queries (joins, CTEs, subqueries, CASE, aggregate and analytic functions).
  • Knowledge of normalized relational database design and table relationships.
  • 3+ years of SQL job scheduling and automated database processes.
  • 3+ years of translating business requirements into SQL solutions.
  • 3+ years of operational reporting and data analysis.
  • Experience with Oracle PL/SQL (procedures, functions, packages, views).
  • Experience with SQL troubleshooting, query optimization, and data validation.
  • Experience with Tableau or other data visualization software.
  • Experience in criminal justice or other large transactional database environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional expertise in Oracle PL/SQL development.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programs.
  • Write simple and complex SQL queries from scratch against normalized Oracle transactional databases.
  • Analyze business requirements and determine appropriate tables, relationships, joins, and business rules.
  • Extract, validate, transform, and analyze operational data for reporting, research, grant, and executive requests.
  • Develop and maintain automated SQL processes, including scheduled database jobs and recurring data refreshes.
  • Troubleshoot SQL scripts, automated jobs, and data quality issues.
  • Create efficient, reusable, and well‑documented SQL code.
  • Support recurring operational reports (KPIs), legislative reporting, and research initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business users to understand reporting needs and communicate analytical findings.
  • Support Tableau dashboards and other data visualization initiatives as needed.
