• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 10 years of experience with cloud-native architecture in a customer-facing or support role
• Experience engaging with and presenting to technical stakeholders and executive leaders
• Experience with database technologies or concepts (e.g., Postgres, Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server, No
  
  SQL, data migrations, scaling, replication, query management)
• Experience using programming languages to design demos, prototypes, or workshops for customers
• Experience with databases on cloud-native architectures

• Experience working with customers in the Public Sector industry
• Experience with cloud computing aspects (infrastructure, storage, platforms and data) and the cloud market dynamics
• Experience optimizing database performance for transactional or analytic workloads
• Ability to understand customer requirements and design technical architectures
• Experience with architecture design, implementation, tuning, schema design and query optimization of scalable and distributed systems

As a Customer Engineer with a specialty in Databases, you will partner with technical sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud to customers. You will serve as a technical expert responsible for accelerating technical wins and adoption of complex workloads. You will leverage your deep product knowledge to design data foundation architectures and develop MVPs to promote new, highly specialized solutions. You will solve analytics-centered customer issues and provide feedback to unblock customers and influence product development.

Google Public Sector delivers solutions tailored for government and education institutions, helping accelerate digital transformations. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and education or training.

US salary range: $152,000 – $222,000 (USD) + target bonus + equity + benefits

• Drive the technical win for complex data analytics workloads, supporting the full sales cycle from use case identification to customer ramp
• Combine business strategy with development and prototyping to provide customer-tailored solutions
• Provide deep technical consultation to customers and build lasting relationships
• Share learnings from engagements to create reusable assets with the Go-To-Market team
• Provide feedback to product and engineering teams to improve architectures and document feature requests
