Project Manager (IT) Senior
The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for leading large, complex enterprise initiatives from initiation through completion. This role oversees project planning, execution, budgeting, risk management, stakeholder communication, and delivery while mentoring project managers and driving project management best practices across the organization. The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing enterprise IT projects, working with executive stakeholders, and delivering successful outcomes in complex or regulated environments.
RoleSummary
The Senior IT Project Manager leads large, high-impact, cross-functional initiatives and may manage multiple concurrent enterprise projects. This role is responsible for driving successful project delivery while providing leadership, mentoring project managers, influencing senior stakeholders, and continuously improving project management standards and delivery practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Lead large-scale, complex, and strategically important IT projects across multiple business units.
- Own end-to-end project delivery, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and overall project outcomes.
- Provide leadership across cross-functional teams, vendors, business stakeholders, and delivery partners.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for project risks, issues, dependencies, and executive decision-making.
- Partner with senior leadership to establish priorities, resolve conflicts, and maintain strategic alignment.
- Develop executive-level project reporting, dashboards, presentations, and status updates.
- Coach, mentor, and support junior and experienced project managers.
- Drive adoption and continuous improvement of VMO standards, delivery frameworks, metrics, and best practices.
- Participate in portfolio planning, prioritization, and strategic project governance.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 8–10+ years of progressive IT project management experience.
- Proven success managing enterprise-scale projects within regulated or highly complex environments.
- Strong knowledge of Agile, Hybrid, and traditional Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and stakeholders without direct authority.
- Advanced experience with financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and project cost tracking.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- SAFe Certification
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- Agile Coach certification
