Description
Leidos is seeking a Data Engineer to support CDC DHP data modernization, analytics, and cloud-based data management initiatives. This role provides hands‑on technical expertise for development, migration, testing, validation, and sustainment of analytical workflows supporting surveillance, research, reporting, and operational activities.
Primary Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integration solutions.
- Support migration and modernization of SAS-based analytics and reporting workflows.
- Develop ETL/ELT processes and cloud-based data engineering solutions.
- Implement automated testing, validation, and monitoring processes.
- Support data ingestion, transformation, and delivery across multiple analytical environments.
- Develop reusable code, technical documentation, and deployment procedures.
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, and program stakeholders to support modernization objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, software development, or cloud-based data management.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Hands‑on experience with Python, R, SAS, PySpark, or comparable technologies.
- Experience developing ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
- Experience supporting CDC, HHS, or public health data systems.
- Experience supporting SAS-to-Python, SAS-to-R, or similar modernization initiatives.
- Experience with EDAV (Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Delta Lake, R Studio, PowerBI, Tableau), 1
CDP (Palantir Foundry), Azure SQL, Azure Dev Ops, or similar platforms. - Experience supporting migration from SAS to other analytics solutions (e.g., R, Python, Databricks, Palantir Foundry).
- Experience supporting dual-run validation, equivalency testing, and controlled migration approaches.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, Dev Ops, and cloud deployment practices.
- Preferred
Certifications:
Databricks Data Engineer Associate/Professional, Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203), Azure AI Engineer Associate, or equivalent. - Master's degree preferred.
$87,100.00 - $
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
