Launched in 2020, the Partnership for Innovation (PIN) is a public-private catalyst positioning Georgia and the Southeastas a national leader in innovation, opportunity, and shared prosperity. We focus on two big, complementary areas:
Emerging Innovators, where paid summer internships and annual fellowships provide talent-as-a-servicehands-on, experiential learning that accelerates careers while advancing innovation in communities; and Local P3s, where we co-create solutions with partners through multidisciplinary research, technologies, and services to drive growth and economic development.

Since launch, PIN has implemented 220 projects across 300+ communities with 200+ partners, deployed nearly 200 technologies and innovations, and for every $1 invested, generated an additional $5.23 back into the ecosystem. Along the way, we've helped create new businesses, expand access to social and financial capital, and scale community-driven solutions in partnership with local governments, universities, startups, and nonprofits. Job Summary

The Manager of Business Development is responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic initiatives that identify and secure funding opportunities to support the institution's research agenda. This role involves building and nurturing relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and philanthropic organizations, to foster collaboration and enhance research capabilities. By analyzing market trends and overseeing proposal development, the Manager of Business Development ensures alignment with institutional priorities and drives successful funding outcomes.

Sets performance goals, participates in evaluations, provides feedback, and informs compensation decisions.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 - Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to identify and secure funding opportunities that support the institution's research initiatives.

Job Duty 2 - Build and maintain strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, private industry, and nonprofit organizations, to enhance collaborative research efforts.
