Job Title: Sr. Database Administrator (SQL Server/Azure)
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)-Candidates must be available to work onsite Position Type: Contract Interview Mode: Either Web Cam or In Person
- Infrastructure Management:
Design, configure, provision, and manage hardware and software configurations (Azure Cloud services and Windows Servers). Ensure compliance with data governance and State data privacy regulations and manage user permissions. - Automated Job Management:
Design, implement, and monitor automated database jobs, maintenance tasks, and ETL workflows. - Scripting & Automation:
Write and maintain robust scripts (SSIS, Power Shell, etc.) to automate routine DBA tasks, deployments, backups, and health checks. - Performance Tuning:
Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, optimize queries, and manage indexing strategies. Ability to resolve hardware, software and network issues. - High Availability & DR:
Maintain and test robust disaster recovery (DR) strategies, and failover testing. Provide 24/7 support for mission-critical systems as needed. - Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams:
Support application development and data integration through application environment configuration, IIS administration, and implementation of security and performance best practices.
Skills & Qualifications
- Education:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field - Database Platforms:
Strong expertise in managing enterprise systems (e.g., MS SQL Server, Windows Server, and Azure Cloud environment). - Scripting Proficiency:
Advanced knowledge of scripting languages like Power Shell and SSIS for automation. - Infrastructure Concept:
Solid understanding of storage systems, network architecture, and cloud infrastructure (i.e. Azure). - Problem Solving:
Excellent troubleshooting skills under pressure for critical production incidents. - Certifications in relevant database technologies (e.g., Azure Database Administrator).
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified:
Azure Database Administrator Associate, Microsoft SQL Server - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Dev Ops processes and .NET applications.
- Experience with Power Apps, Power BI Services, Power Automate.
